There is a great story behind this Elephant Dung Notepaper in Square Box … Sri Lanka is home to about a tenth of the estimated global total of 40,000 Asian elephants in the wild but many are killed because they interfere with agriculture. It is believed that the only way elephants and human beings can exist successfully in the same environment is by finding ways to use the elephant as a sustainable economic resource. And who would have thought that something sustainable and economically viable could be made from - of all things - the elephant's dung! (On average an adult elephant produces about 180-200 kg of dung per day!) An amazing project has managed to produce hand crafted paper products made from 75% dung and 25% recycled paper. Now that's what you call sustainable innovation! Each product comes with a little explanatory note. This product has been supplied by an importer who is a member of BAFTS. (L10 x W12.5 x H4.5cm).
