This morning LG Electronics announced the launch of the world’s first transparent handset, the LG GD900 Crystal.

The LG GD900 Crystal comes with the S-Class 3D user interface (UI) which LG premièred on the Arena (KM900) and the transparent ‘Crystal Touchpad’ is made of tempered glass and encased within a frame able to absorb shock and vibration. But the LG GD900 Crystal has loftier aims than just being the first invisible handset – it also has some pretty impressive navigational functions: The Crystal Touchpad can be used in the same way as a laptop touchpad with Gesture Shortcuts that users can personalist and configure to their favourite shortcuts. It also has handwriting recongition software and mouse-touch functions for even easier navigation!

All in all, this is set to be one high performing and unique looking multimedia device with a dedicated chipset for multimedia and graphic content and additional processing speed.
